Tree nut

Tree nuts are difficult to avoid and communicate about because of the large amount of nut types it includes. In addition to asking a lot of questions to inform yourself about the ingredients and preparation methods of the meal, you are planning to order. Make sure to, carry a “chef card” that outlines the foods you must avoid. Present the card to the chef or manager for review. This card set includes multiple images of different types of tree nuts. Peanut

Allergen Chef cards

Certain food service establishments are considered high-risk for individuals with peanut allergy due to the frequent use of peanut and the risk of cross-contact. In fact, eggs have been used to create the foam or topping on specialty coffee drinks and are key ingredients in some bar drinks. Dairy

Ethnic restaurants (e.g., Chinese, African, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese) are considered high-risk because of the common use of fish and fish ingredients and the possibility of cross-contact, even if you do not order fish. In case avoiding these restaurant types isn't possible to use these chef cards to communicate with restaurant staff of your dietary needs. Give them away to give off the chef for best results.

Shellfish

Avoid seafood restaurants, even if you order a non-seafood item off of the menu, cross-contact is possible. Asian restaurants often serve dishes that use fish sauce as a flavoring base. Exercise caution or avoid eating there altogether. Shellfish protein can become airborne in the steam released during cooking and may be a risk. Stay away from cooking areas. In case avoiding these restaurant types isn't possible to use these chef cards to communicate with restaurant staff of your dietary needs. Give them away to give off the chef for best results.
